When a charger is not inuse, disconnect it from the power source. Donot leave the battery connected to a chargerfor more than a week, since overcharging mayshorten its life.• Extreme temperatures will affect the chargingcapacity of your battery: it may require coolingor warming first.• Do not leave the battery in hot or cold places, such as in a car in summer or winterconditions, as you will reduce the capacity andlifetime of the battery. Always try to keep thebattery at room temperature. A phone with ahot or cold battery may temporarily not work, even when the battery is fully charged. Li-ionbatteries are particularly affected bytemperatures below 0 °C (32 °F).• Do not short-circuit the battery. Accidentalshort- circuiting can occur when a metallicobject (coin, clip or pen) causes a directconnection between the + and – terminals ofthe battery (metal strips on the battery), forexample when you carry a spare battery in apocket or bag. Short-circuiting the terminalsmay damage the battery or the object causingthe short-circuiting.• Dispose of used batteries in accordance withlocal regulations. Always recycle. Do notdispose of batteries in a fire.SAR tests are conducted using standardoperating positions with the phone transmittingat its highest certified power level in all testedfrequency bands. Although the SAR isdetermined at the highest certified power level, the actual SAR level of the phone whileoperating can be well below the maximum value. This is because the phone is designed to operateat multiple power levels so as to use only thepower required to reach the network. In general, the closer you are to a base station, the lowerthe power output of the phone.Precautions When Using Batteries• Never use any charger or battery that isdamaged in any way.• Use the battery only for its intended purpose.• If you use the phone near the network’s basestation, it uses less power; talk and standbytime are greatly affected by the signal strengthon the cellular network and the parameters setby the network operator.• Battery charging time depends on theremaining battery charge, the type of batteryand the charger used. The battery can becharged and discharged hundreds of times, butit will gradually wear out. When the operationtime (talk time and standby time) is noticeablyshorter than normal, it is time to buy a newbattery.• If left unused, a fully charged battery willdischarge itself over time.Health and Safety Information
