Samsung iDCS500 DCS (Euro) Keyset User Guide– 44 –EXECUTIVE/SECRETARY HOTLINEYou can program two extensions to have a ‘hotline’ between them, called theexecutive/secretary hotline. When the executive extension is in DND mode,all of its calls will ring the secretary extension.Either extension user can press the BOSS key to make a voice call to theother extension. This will override any DND set at the other extension. Thekey will light red when the other extension is in use.n TRANSFERRING A CALL TO ANEXECUTIVE EXTENSION IN DND1. Press the TRSF key followed by the BOSS key.2. Hang up to complete a blind transfer.ORWait for the user to answer, announce the call and hang up to completea screened transfer.GROUP LISTENINGWhen engaged on a call and using the handset, you may want other peopleto hear the other party’s voice over the speaker. The speaker can be toggledon/off.ß Press the LISTEN key, or LISTN soft key in the display, to turn on thespeaker. The microphone is not in use, so the other party cannot hearother parties present in your office.ß Press the LISTEN key, or LISTN soft key, again to turn the speaker offand resume private conversation.ß Repeat as necessary.Note: Depending on speaker volume and the acoustics of your office, it may beadvisable to turn the group listening feature off before hanging up. This will elimi-nate any momentary squeal.
