User guide Interfaces127Serial attachmentcharacteristicsData ratesThe interface supports the following data rates.` 4800 bps` 9600 bps` 19200 bps` 38400 bpsSupported protocolsThis interface will also support the following:` 7 or 8 Data Bits` Even, Odd, None Parity` 1 or 2 Stop Bit(s)` Ready/Busy or XON/XOFF handshakingData TransferA data frame consists of a start bit, seven or eight data bits, 0 or 1 paritybit(s) and 1 or 2 stop bit(s). With these combinations, 9, 10, 11 and 12bit frames are available:ParityThere are three possible parity settings: Even, Odd, None.` When Even parity is specified, the interface expects to receive dataframes with even parity and will transmit data with even parity.` When Odd parity is specified, the interface expects to receive dataframes with odd parity and will transmit data with odd parity.` Parity will be checked whenever “Even” of “Odd” parity is selected. If a parity error is detected, “PARITY ERROR” message will be dis-played on the LCD. Printer will continue to receive data.` When “No” parity is specified, the interface does not except dataframes to include a parity bit, and the interface transmits data with-out parity bits.START 7 or 8 Data Bits 0 or 1PARITY bit1 or 2STOP bit(s)
