Operator's Manual Fourth Edition • Fourth PrintingAttachments56 GTH-1056 Part No. 214834Identify the proper lifting points of the load, takinginto consideration the center of gravity and loadstability.Do not attempt to use the telehandlerframe-leveling to compensate for a swinging loador to adjust the load after it has been raised.Do not try to move fixed or obstructed loads.Do not leave the telehandler unattended with asuspended load.Keep the boom and load as low as practical whilemaintaining visibility in the direction of travel.Do not exceed walking speed (2 mph / 3.2 km/h)with a suspended load.Start, travel, turn and stop slowly to prevent theload from becoming unstable or swinging.Do not use any controls to re-position the loadwhen traveling. Come to a gradual and completestop before attempting to re-position the load.Do not attempt to cross inclines as the load centerwill move towards the tipping line, thereby reducingstability.Only climb or descend inclines with extreme careas the load center will move towards the tippingline, thereby reducing stabilityDo not park on a slope.Fall HazardsDo not lift or suspend personnel.Collision HazardsBe sure that the load is clear of any adjacentobstacles before lifting. When visibility is or could be obstructed, near or atthe load placement, the operator shall usealternative or additional means to safely lift theload, such as a qualified signal person.Signal persons must remain in constantcommunication (verbal or hand) and be in visualcontact with the operator at all times.Crush HazardsNever allow the signal person to come betweenthe suspended load and another object (such asthe telehandler itself).Falling Object HazardsDo not raise the load intothe fall zone shown.Do not operate the machine while people areunder the load or in the fall zone.Do not suspend loads using slings or chains fromthe forks or fork carriage.Avoid lifting double tiered loads.
