Displayedindependently in the FRS band.Locked 8 — displayed when the keypad is locked.Battery Level Icon 9 — displays one of five differentindicators to show the battery power level.Frequency Step Indication (USA/Europe) 10 — showsthe selection of the value of the frequency step betweenchannels in AM or FM mode.Message Line 7 — depending on the current band or theselected radio mode, this line can show you the ChannelName (for the marine band), the MENU options (SetupOptions), or other data specific to the chosen band.CTCSS Option 11 — Displays OFF when not enabled.Displays a code number when enabled for the associatedchannel.Muting On 12 — appears when you select Muting from theFM Band option menu. Disappears when you disengagemuting from the menu.Owner’s Manual ConventionsTo indicate a key, button, knob or other physical control, weprint the label in BOLD UPPER CASE. To indicate an LCD(display) label, option, or selection, we use UPPER or LowerCase italic labels such as MENU, 5 Seconds, Channel 06.Occasionally we indicate an option as (default). This meansthat the option is set in the manner indicated at the factoryand is the setting when you first apply power. If you choosenot to alter it, the default is the setting used by the radio.
