40 Uniden MHS550 Radio Owner’s ManualChanging Channel Names[For Marine Band Only]Each channel has a default name which you can change.When a channel is allocated to a specific service, changingthe name on your radio can help make identification fasterand easier. Or you can change the name to a member ofyour boating family such as MOMS CHANNEL. You can useup to 16 characters.From the MARINE MENU, press ▲ or ▼ to highlightChannel Name.Press ENTER. Use ▲ or ▼ to scroll to the desiredchannel you wish to rename. Press ENTER. Thenchoose Rename , Default, or Exit. and select it.If you choose Rename, press either ▲ or ▼ until thefirst letter or number of the new name appears. PressENTER to select it and move to the next character.When the name is complete, repeatedly pressENTER until the cursor reaches the right end of theline. Then press ENTER again. A double beep soundsconfirming the change and the display returns to theChannel Name menu.
