96 MOVILINK® Interfaces WAGO-SPEEDWAY 767767-5204 MOVILINK® Interface (RS-232, RS-485)ManualVersion 1.1.0Example 2Interfaces 1 and 2 are connected to two MOVILINK® converters, where the"Slave 1" converter is connected to interface 1 and "Slave 2" converter tointerface 2.For throughput optimization, the internal buffer of the MOVILINK® moduledesigned for up to two messages can be used. While processing a message, theother message is transmitted by the PLC to the module to increase throughput, thus reducing the cycle time for cyclic data exchange. The cycle time for cyclic data exchange is defined as the lag between twoMOVILINK® telegrams received from one converter that are addressed for thisconverter. The cycle time TCycle can be calculated as follows:TCycle = N * TConverter,N = Number of individual converters (slaves) connected to the interfaceTConverter = Lag between transmission of the request and receipt of the response fora converter (slave)This time depends on several factors:- The PLC cycle time- The transmission time via the fieldbus of the higher-level master system- The set transmission rate of the RS-485 bus- The maximum response delay time- The character delay time of a converterThe typical lag (Tconverter) for example 2 is approx. 35 ms when using a SIEMENSSimatic S7 PLC, WAGO fieldbus coupler PROFIBUS DP/V1 (767-1101),converter of the MOVIMOT® series and a set transmission rate of 9600 baud. The following sequence diagram illustrates the data exchange between the PLCand MOVILINK ® module.
