PRINTING JOBSPrinting samplesYou can obtain sample prints of the following:• Forms, logos, graphic images, or fonts for reference whencreating jobs. Programmers at your site may ask you tosample these files.Programmers may request using the HARDCOPY commandto sample non-color graphic image files because it providesmore detailed information about the file. For moreinformation on the HARDCOPY command, refer to the Xerox4050/4090/4450/4650 LPS Command Reference.• The current job while the job is running. You can use sampleprints to check print quality and form alignment beforeprinting the entire job.• The test alignment pattern to check print quality and formalignment when no job is pending.To sample a form, logo, graphic image, or font file, or to samplepages from a job that is temporarily suspended, enter the samplecommand:SAMPLE [{filename}[,S|D][,copies]filenameThe name of the file to sample, including the file extension.Example: SAMPLE SAMPLE.FRM,D,2,INKS=‘BLUE’[S|D]S prints the sample pages in simplex mode; D prints thesample pages in duplex mode.[copies]The number of copies of the sample pages to print.Follow these steps to sample pages from the current job whilethe job is running:1. Verify that the job is more than three pages long.If the job is less than three pages, the system cannot deliversample pages.2. Do one of the following: press on thekeyboard, press the Sample button on the printer controlconsole, or enter the SAMPLE command with no parameters.The system delivers sample pages to the sample tray.
