13.4 Copier/Printer TroubleshootingThis section describes the solutions for problems which may arise with the copier/printer.Nothing is displayed on the control panel.Verification #1: Is the scanner power cord connected?Solution: Plug in the power cord firmly to reconnect the scanner.Verification #2: Are the power switches (two locations) switched on?Solution: Switch on the power switches.Verification #3: Is the control panel contrast setting too dark?Solution: Adjust the contrast dial.The copies are soiled.Verification #1: Is the scanning area or platen roller dirty?Solution: Clean the scanning area.Verification #2: Does the document being scanned have a high level oftransparency?Solution: Adjust either the image density setting or the backgroundsuppression setting.Verification #3: Is the document printed on colored paper, rough paper, orblueprint paper?Solution: Adjust either the image density setting or the backgroundsuppression setting.The copies are too dark.Verification #1: Has the image density been set too dark?Solution: Decrease the image density setting.
