17 - Getting startedNotes:• The toner cartridge is installedsecurely when the lock lever can-not be turned further.• Although the toner is not harmfulto your body, wash it off immedi-ately if your hands or clothes arestained with it.• The protective cover is attached toeach toner cartridge slot at thefactory. You only have to removethe cover from each toner car-tridge slot the first time that youinstall the toner.• When pulling out the seal, pull itout horizontally. The tape mightbreak if it is pulled out diagonally.• After the seal has been pulled out,do not shake or bump the tonercartridge.• Make sure the toner cartridge isinstalled correctly. Otherwise, thefront cover cannot close firmly.Installing the drumcartridgeWarning:Never throw a drum cartridge intoan open flame. It can cause anexplosion and burn injuries.1. When the [Load Drum Car-tridge] message is displayed onthe control panel, slowly flip backcover B until it stops.2. Open the front cover, and then liftup the top cover.3. Take the drum cartridge out ofthe packaging box, and thenremove the protectivesheet.4. To insert the drum cartridge,push up the lever on the rightside of the printer.213
