However, aUSB connection is not as fast as an Ethernet connection. To use USB, PC users must haveWindows 2000/XP/Server 2003 or newer. Macintosh users must use Mac OS X, version 10.2and higher.USB ConnectionA USB connection requires a standard A/B USB cable. This cable is not included with yourprinter and must be purchased separately. Verify that you are using the correct USB (1.x or2.0) cable for your connection.1. Connect one end of the USB cable to the printer and turn it on.2. This type ofconnection provides the slowest data speeds. Parallel connection requires a standard-to-highdensity Parallel printer cable, (36-pin high-density 1284-C [male] to 36-pin low density1284-B [male] cable), with a maximum length of three meters (10 feet). Connect the Parallelcable to the printer and the computer while they are both Off, and then turn them On.
