Phaser 6121MFP Service Manual 2-15Theory of OperationControl Start DecisionEither of the following two control start decisions is made according to thetemperature detected by the temperature/humidity sensor. The fusingtemperature during the print cycle varies depending on the type of the startcontrol carried out, either low temperature or ordinary start control.Wait ControlControl is provided to ensure that the temperatures at different parts of the Fuserreach a constant level during the wait state.Control Start Timing• At the end of the warm-up control.• At the end of the post-print cycle control (print start control).Control Termination Timing• The front cover is opened and closed.• A malfunction or media misfeed occurs.Print ControlTo ensure a good fixing level and light transmission performance, the fusing speedand Fuser Roller temperature are controlled.Control Start TimingA print request is received.Control Termination TimingA malfunction or media misfeed occurs.Control Start Decision Environment on StartLow temperature start control The temperature/humidity sensor detects atemperature lower than the predeterminedvalue.Ordinary start control The temperature/humidity sensor detects atemperature equivalent to, or higher than, thepredetermined value.
