FTA-310 OperATing MAnuAl10B eFore you BegInPrecautions The FTA-310 is capable of two-way communica-tion on channels used for critical aviation safetycommunications. Therefore, it is important that thisradio be kept away from children or other unauthor-ized users at all times. When making DC connections via the the optionalE-DC-5B/E-DC-6 DC cable, be absolutely certainto observe the proper voltage level and polarityguidelines. Do not connect this radio directly to any24 ~ 28 Volt DC source, nor to AC power of anykind. Connecting the FTA-310 directly to a sourcewhich exceeds 15.0 Volts DC will result in damageto the unit. The Limited Warranty for this productdoes not cover damage caused by the application ofimproper voltage. Do not dispose of the Ni-MH Battery Pack in a fire.Do not carry a Ni-MH Battery Pack in your pocket,where keys or coins could short the terminals. Thiscould create a serious fire/burn danger, and possiblycause damage to the Ni-MH pack. Although the FTA-310 is designed to be Submers-ible (3 ft., 30 min.), its enclosure is not designed toguarantee protection from ingress of water underextreme pressure. Do not allow the radio to becomesubmerged in deep water, and do not subject it towater spray under pressure.Belt Clip Installation Connect the hanger to the rear of the FTA-310, withthe notch pointing directly up, using the suppliedscrew (Fig 1). Use only the screw included with theclip to mount the clip to the back of the FTA-310. Clip the Quick-Draw Belt Clip onto your belt (Fig 2). To install the FTA-310 into the Quick-Draw BeltClip, align the hanger with the Quick-Draw BeltClip, and slide the FTA-310 into its slot until a clickis heard (Fig 3). To remove the FTA-310 from the Quick-Draw BeltClip, rotate the FTA-310 180 degrees, then slide theFTA-310 out from the Quick-Draw Belt Clip (Fig 4).
