19 EnConnecting to a networkEnglish PREPARATIONConfiguring MusicCast■ About MusicCastUse MusicCast to share music between MusicCast-compatible devices in multiple rooms.With the dedicated “MusicCast CONTROLLER” app, youcan easily enjoy music from your smartphone, a mediaserver (a personal computer or NAS) or Internet radio(streaming services) wherever you are in your home.• All MusicCast-compatible devices can be operatedfrom the dedicated “MusicCast CONTROLLER” app• Multiple devices that support MusicCast in separaterooms can be linked to play music simultaneously• Supports music playback through Internet radio(streaming services)• Network settings for devices that support MusicCastVisit the following website for more information onMusicCast and on which devices are compatible.http://www.yamaha.com/musiccast/NoteTo use MusicCast, download the MusicCast Setup Guide fromthe Yamaha Downloads website.http://download.yamaha.com/■ MusicCast CONTROLLERTo use network functionality with a device that supportsMusicCast, you need to use the “MusicCastCONTROLLER” dedicated app for mobile devices.Search for and install “MusicCast CONTROLLER” (free)in the App Store or on Google Play.■ Registering a MusicCast networkRegister this unit to a MusicCast network.At the same time, configure the network connectionsettings for this unit.NoteWhen connecting to a wireless network, have the SSID and thesecurity key for the wireless LAN router (access point) on hand.1 Start the “MusicCast CONTROLLER” app,and tap “SETUP”.NoteWhen configuring the settings on each subsequent device thatsupports MusicCast, tap “Register New Device” in the app’s“ ”.2 Following the instructions on the screen ofyour mobile device, use the “MusicCastCONTROLLER” and press the CONNECTbutton on the front of this unit’s panel for fiveseconds.3 Following the instructions on the screen ofyour mobile device, use the “MusicCastCONTROLLER” to configure the networksettings.This completes the network settings for registering thedevice to the MusicCast network.Use “MusicCast CONTROLLER” to play back music.NoteAirPlay and DSD sound cannot be transmitted.
