Playing back music with AirPlay35 EnEnglish BASICOPERATIONThe AirPlay function allows you to play back iPhone/iPad/iPod touch/iTunes music on the unit via network.NoteTo use this function, the unit and your PC or iPhone must beconnected to the same router (p. 13). You can check whether thenetwork parameters (such as the IP address) are properly assignedto the unit in “Information” (p. 40) in the “SETUP” menu.Playback of iTunes/iPhone musiccontentsFollow the procedure below to play back iTunes/iPhonemusic contents on the unit.1 Turn on the unit, and start iTunes on the PCor display the playback screen on theiPhone.If the iTunes/iPhone recognizes the unit, the AirPlayicon appears.NoteIf the icon does not appear, check whether the unit and PC/iPhoneare connected to the router properly.2 On the iTunes/iPhone, click (tap) the AirPlayicon and select the unit (network name of theunit) as the audio output device.3 Select a song and start playback.The unit automatically selects “AirPlay” as the inputsource and starts playback. The playback information isdisplayed on the front display.Note• If you press the DISPLAY repeatedly, you can switch theplayback information on the front display (p. 20).• You can turn on the unit automatically when starting playbackon iTunes or iPhone by setting “Standby (Network Standby)”(p. 41) in the “SETUP” menu to “On” or “Auto”.• You can edit the network name (the unit’s name on the network)displayed on iTunes/iPhone in “Network Name” (p. 41) in the“SETUP” menu.• You can adjust the unit’s volume from the iTunes/iPhone duringplayback.CAUTIONUsing iTunes or an iPhone to adjust the volume may makethe volume unexpectedly loud, which could result indamage to your hearing or to the device. Stop playbackimmediately on iTunes or on your iPod if the playbackvolume is too loud.
