Axiolab A Carl ZeissB 40-015 e 06/99 3-153.3 Attachment of Microscope Stages and Specimen HoldersThe Axiolab A microscope is available with threedifferent stages:- fixed stage (3-11/1),- gliding stage (3-11/2) or- mechanical stage (3-11/3).The retaining clips (3-11/4) are used to holdspecimens mounted on a 26 × 76 mm microscopeslide. They are inserted into the drilled holes in thespecimen stage. With the mechanical stage, the specimen holderwith spring clip ”R” (3-11/5) is used to guide theabove slides. For the examination of opaqueobjects, the mechanical stage can be equippedwith the specimen holder A (3-11/6).The stages can be changed by the usersthemselves:• Loosen hexagonal screw (3-12/2) on the rightside of the stage until the stage (3-12/1) can beremoved from the dovetail (3-12/3).The stage can be attached again and fixed inreverse order. If the maximum specimen height is20 mm, the stage is secured in theupper stop position; for higherspecimens, the lower stage stop mustbe used (specimen height up to max.45 mm).The mechanical stage can be securedonly in the upper stop position, andtherefore only allows specimen heightsup to 20 mm (only 18 mm withspecimen holder A).Fig. 3-11 Stage selectionFig. 3-12 Changing the microscope stage
