23SECTION 5 – PHOTOMETRICSThe photometrics measurement mode enables simple measurements of absorbance, %transmittance and concentration to be performed. In this measurement mode it is possible to calibrateagainst a standard of a known concentration or use a known factor. The sample is measured at onewavelength at one point in time. There are no post measurement calculations available in thismeasurement mode.5.1 PHOTOMETRICS MENU SCREENThe photometrics measurement mode screen enablesmeasurement parameters to be changed. The fouroptions at the bottom of the screen allow the user toselect the unit of measurement, the measurementmode, the concentration factor and the calibrationstandard’s concentration. These options are selectedwith the corresponding function buttons.5.2 METHOD SET UPThe photometrics measurement mode is very simple and the only parameters which can be adjustedare the wavelength, the units of the measurement the measurement mode and the concentrationsetup parameters.5.2.1 Selecting a WavelengthThe wavelength can be adjusted by pressing the GOTO key on the instrument keypad. The requiredwavelength can then be entered using the numerical keypad. Press the Enter key to confirm.5.2.2 Selecting the Measurement ModeThe measurement mode can be selected by pressing the function key below the Mode option. Therequired measurement mode can then be selected from the available options of Abs, %T andConc/Factor using the up and down arrow keys. Press the Enter key to confirm.
