Making Calls 31Redialing a Call To redial a number on a 3Com Basic Telephone:■ Pick up the handset and then press Feature + 401 to dial the mostrecent number that you dialed.■ Use the Call Logs on the display panel to redial a recently missed,answered, or dialed call.Making External Calls To dial an external call:1 Pick up the handset. On 3101SP Basic Telephones, you can press thebutton. You hear the dial tone. If necessary, dial the number required toaccess an external line (for example, 9). If one of the Access buttons isconfigured to access an external line directly, you can press that button.2 Dial the number or use the display panel to scroll to Placed Calls, ReceivedCalls, or Missed Calls, or a personal or system-wide speed dial number. Ifyou have programmed one of the One-Touch buttons, press that button.3 When you finish speaking, hang up the handset. If you pressed thebutton, press it again to end the call.Making a Call to aRemote OfficeYou can dial calls between sites in your organization that are separatedgeographically but that are linked by a Wide Area Network (WAN)connection. Each site must have a VCX system. Typical configurations aredescribed in the next sections.Using Unique ExtensionsIn some companies with geographically separated offices, everyone in theentire organization has a unique telephone extension. Whenever youmake a call to an extension that is not located at your own site, your VCXsystem sets up a connection to the VCX system at the other extension’ssite.
