92 Electrical installation Ground-to-phase varistorThe ground-to-phase varistor is not suitable for use on an IT (ungrounded) system.Disconnect the ground-to-phase varistor before connecting the drive to the supplynetwork. Check the table on page 92.WARNING! Do not install the drive with the ground-to-phase varistorconnected on an IT system (an ungrounded power system or a high-resistance-grounded [over 30 ohms] power system), otherwise the varistor circuit canbe damaged.Check from the table below if you have to disconnect the EMC filter (EMC) or ground-to-phase varistor (VAR). For instructions on how to do this, see sections FramesR1…R3 on page 93 or Frames R4…R9 on page 94.FramesizesEMCfilter(EMC)Ground-to-phasevaristor(VAR)Symmetricallygrounded TNsystems (TN-Ssystems) 1Corner groundedTN systems 2IT systems(ungrounded orhigh-resistancegrounded [>30ohms]) 3R1…R3 EMC(1 screw)- Do not disconnect Disconnect Disconnect- VAR(1 screw)Do not disconnect Disconnect DisconnectR4…R5 EMC(2 screws)- Do not disconnect Frames R4 andR5 cannot beused in cornergrounded TNsystems.Disconnect- VAR(1 screw)Do not disconnect DisconnectR 6…R9 EMC(2 screws)- Do not disconnect Disconnect Disconnect- VAR(1 screw)Do not disconnect Do not disconnect Disconnect1 2 3DrivePENL3L2L1Drive DrivePEL3L2L1L3L2L1
