Expansion Stages and System Capacity41Aastra 415/430 as of R3.2syd-0344/1.6 – R3.2 – 09.20143. 2. 2 Power supplyThe system is powered as standard with 230 VAC or 115 VAC using the suppliedpower supply. The communications server is powered with 19V DC from the powersupply. All other voltages are generated directly on the mainboard. To ensure thatits operation is maintained even in the event of a mains outage, an external unin-terruptible power supply (UPS) must be used. For more details about the powersupply see "Powering the communication server", page 95.3. 2. 3 DSP ResourcesDSP resources are used for complex signal processing functions. (DSP stands forDigital Signal Processor). They provide functions for conference circuits, DTMFsender and receiver, compression of voice data, etc. A DSP chip is fitted perma-nently to the mainboard.Part of these DSP resources is allocated to fixed functions and can be used withoutlicences (see Tab. 15).Another part is allocated to selectable functions, according to requirements. Thesefunctions are partly subject to licence (see Tab. 16).The basic resources of the communication server can be expanded by fitting DSPmodules. The functions of the DSP chips on the modules can also be configured(see Tab. 23 and Tab. 22).Fixed functions of the mainboard DSPThe table below provides an overview of the fixed functions of the mainboard DSP.No licences or additional hardware is required to use the functions.Tab. 15 Fixed functions of the mainboard DSPMax. number of simultaneous ...
