The following information is provided to help youset up proper communication:TCP/IP Networksn When installing your TCP/IP software (not provided byAdaptec), follow the installation instructions provided withyour TCP/IP software. You will be asked to enter informationsuch as IP address, host name, host file, etc.n The TCP/IP stack uses the host name from TCP/IP setup.SPX/IPX Networksn On an SPX/IPX network, make sure to install the NetWareClient Software for Windows (provided by Microsoft). Duringinstallation, certain DLLs required by the Adaptec CI/O Man-agement Software are installed.n The host name is identified through the SET RPCHOST=environment variable. You can enter this variable through thesetup process, or you can manually add it to theautoexec.batfile.Note: Under dual stack situations, we recommend using thesame host name for both TCP/IP and SPX/IPX to minimizeany naming confusion.r
