Todownload the iSNS package, go to the Microsoft web site and search for isns. Thepackage installs a readme file that contains extensive release notes on bug fixes andcurrent iSNS limitations. Be sure to read these notes before attempting to use theservice.Note When you use iSNS, all iSCSI initiators and users can connect to any iSCSItargets—no restrictions are enforced.1 Install the iSNS service on a Windows server. Note the IP address of the serveron which the iSNS service is installed.2 Open the CLI on the iSCSI Storage Appliance.You can access the CLI two ways. Each method presents the CLI automatically:• Attach a VT100 terminal emulation utility (for example, hyperterminal) to theserial port of the iSCSI Storage Appliance.Use these terminal emulation program settings to access the CLI:• Null Modem Cable• Baud Rate: 115,200• Data Bits: 8• Parity: None• Stop Bits: 1• Flow Control: OffNote Flow control must be set to Off. Otherwise, the system will appear tohang.• Connect to the iSCSI Storage Appliance through a Telnet session (once theinitial network values have been set). Telnet to the IP address that is assignedto the management port on the iSCSI Storage Appliance.
