AW00123409000 FeaturesBasler ace USB 3.0 2817.14.3.2 PGI Feature SetThe PGI feature set allows to optimize the image quality of color images. For information about the availability of the PGI feature set on a specific color camera model, seeTable 42 on page 192.The following image optimization features are included: Basler PGI demosaicing Noise Reduction Sharpness Enhancement.Below, the features are briefly described. For more detailed information, see the White Paper"Better Image Quality with Basler PGI". The document is available on the Basler website:www.baslerweb.comBasler PGI DemosaicingBaser PGI demosaicing involves regions of 5×5 pixels on the sensor for color interpolation and istherefore more elaborate than the "simple" 2×2 demosaicing used otherwise by the camera. TheBasler PGI 5×5 demosaicing can only operate in the context of the Basler PGI feature set and, conversely, the Basler PGI feature set can only operate with 5×5 demosaicing. When Basler PGI demosaicing is enabled, the following happens: The 5×5 color interpolation becomes effective. Basler PGI image quality optimization occurs automatically, bringing about most of the imagequality optimization. The Noise Reduction and Sharpness Enhancement features become available for further"manual" image quality optimization. The PGI feature set can only be used when either of the following "allowed" pixelformats is enabled: RGB8, BGR8, YCbCr422_8.The PGI feature set can not be used with a Mono format, e.g. Mono 8, or a rawpixel format, e.g. Bayer BG10.The PGI feature set is mainly tailored to meet the needs of human vision.Basler PGI demosaicing can only be enabled when one of the "allowed" pixelformats (see above) is enabled.
