To assist with directional control of the vehicle, alwaysleave the system on. Stability control can be turned offhowever, by using the TC button. See Traction ControlSystem (TCS) on page 5‑9. The STABILITY SYSOFF message will be displayed on the DIC. See DICWarnings and Messages on page 4‑76.If there is a problem detected with EnhancedStabiliTrak, the SERVICE STABILITY SYS messagewill be displayed on the DIC. See DIC Warnings andMessages on page 4‑76. When this message isdisplayed, the system is not operating. Driving shouldbe adjusted accordingly.When certain faults or vehicle conditions are detected,the Stability control will automatically go into a securemode and the STABILITY SECURE MODE messagewill be displayed on the DIC. When the Stability SecureMode is activated, the stability control system will notrespond to driver requests to change the stability modeuntil the next ignition cycle or until the vehicle conditionor fault is returned to normal. When the Stability SecureMode is activated, other messages may be displayed,such as SERVICE STEERING SYS, SERVICESUSPENSION SYS or CHECK TIRE PRESSURE onthe DIC. When the Stability Secure Mode is activated, alarger degree of steering wheel input at low vehiclespeeds and a smaller degree of steering wheel input athigh vehicle speeds may be required. Stability SecureMode will be activated if a compact spare tire is beingused. See DIC Warnings and Messages on page 4‑76and Compact Spare Tire on page 6‑107.Persistent operation of the vehicle in the STABILITYSECURE MODE may be an indication that the vehicleneeds to be serviced by your dealer/retailer.When certain faults are present, the vehicle’s speedmay be limited and the SPEED LIMITED TO XXXmessage will be displayed on the DIC. See DICWarnings and Messages on page 4‑76. When thevehicle’s speed is limited, other messages may bedisplayed, such as SERVICE STABILITY SYS,SERVICE STEERING SYS or SERVICE SUSPENSIONSYS on the DIC.
