Failure toobserve these items may result in fire or electrical shock.CAUTION:● Clean the copier using a firmly wrung-out cloth dampened with a mild cleansing detergent. Donot use alcohol, benzene, paint thinner or other inflammable substances. If inflammablesubstances come into contact with a high-voltage area inside the copier, this may result in fire orelectrical shock.●Unplug the power plug from the outlet at least once a year, and clean the area around the base ofthe plug's metal pins to ensure all dust is removed. If dust accumulates in this area, it may resultin a fire.Routine Cleaning■ Platen glassClean the platen glass with a cloth dampened with wateror a mild cleaning agent, then wipe with a dry cloth.■ Bottom of the RDF (Feeding belt)Move the feeding belt with your hand as you wipe it witha cloth dampened with water or a mild cleaning agent,then wipe with a dry cloth.MEMO: ● If the RDF’s feeding roller becomes dirtied, youroriginals may have black streaks or appear dirtyafter feeding them in the the RDF. In this case,perform Feeder Cleaning. Also perform FeederCleaning if feeding problems are frequentlyoccurring in the RDF. (See “Additional Functions /Feeder Cleaning,” on p. 4-21.)
