Opening the Printer Properties Dialog Box from Your ApplicationProgramDepending on your application program, the command and menu namesmay differ, and there may be more steps involved in opening the PPrinterProperties dialog box. For more details, see the user’s manual for yourapplication.1 In your application, select the command to print a document.The PPrint dialog box can usually be opened by selecting PPrint from the FFile menu.2 Ensure that the name of your printer is selected. Then click PPreferences (orProperties).The PPrinter Properties dialog box opens. Opening the Printer Properties Dialog Box Directly from the StartMenuThis method is used for maintenance operations, such as PPrint Head Cleaning, or tospecify printer settings common to all application programs.1 Click SStart and select CControl Panel, PPrinters and OOther Hardware, and thenPrinters and Faxes.For non-Windows XP, click SStart, select SSettings, and then PPrinters.2 Double-click the icon of your printer.3 Open the FFile menu and select PPrinting Preferences (or PProperties).In Windows NT 4.0, select DDocument Default. (iP4000 only)The PPrinter Properties dialog box opens.When opening the PPrinter Properties dialog box from PProperties, the default Windowtabs (e.g., the PPorts tab, or the DDetails tab) are displayed.
