150TroubleshootingIf you have a problem with your camcorder, refer to this checklist. Attach the battery pack correctly. 17The camcorder switches off by itself. Power save function has been activated. Turn on the camcorder. 37The screen switches on and off. Battery pack is exhausted. Replace or charge the battery pack. 17Problem Cause SolutionButtons will not work. Cassette is not loaded. Load a cassette. 31flashes on the screen. Condensation is detected. See reference page. 149“REMOVE THE CASSETTE” appears on thescreen.Camcorder stopped operating to protect thetape.Remove the cassette and reinsert it. 31The wireless controller will not work. Camcorder and wireless controller are notset to the same remote sensor mode.Change the remote sensor mode. 118Batteries of the wireless controller areexhausted.Replace the batteries. 30Abnormal characters appear on thescreen. The camcorder does not operateproperly.This camcorder uses a microcomputer.External noise or static electricity may causeabnormal characters to appear on thescreen.Disconnect the power source andreconnect it after a short time. If theproblem still persists, disconnect the powersource and press the RESET button with apointed item. Pressing the RESET buttonresets all settings.You can also reset all the camcorder’ssettings to default values using the[SYSTEM SETUP/ ] [RESET ALL]setting.–Problem Cause SolutionThe dial is not in the OFFposition but the POWER indicator is off.The LED indicators option in the customizedfunctions is set to [OFF].Set the [LED] setting to one of the othertypes.109Image will not appear on the screen. The dial is not set to a recordingprogram.Set the dial to a recordingprogram.36“SET THE TIME ZONE, DATE AND TIME”appears on the screen.Time zone, date and time are not set, or thebuilt-in rechargeable lithium battery isexhausted.Set the time zone, date and time. Ifnecessary, power the camcorder with thecompact power adapter and leave itconnected with the dial set toOFF for at least 24 hours to recharge thebuilt-in battery before making the settings.34Pressing the Start/Stop button will notstart recording.Cassette is not loaded.
