Configuring Smart Card Authentication 161Configuring Smart CardAuthenticationiDRAC6 supports the two factor authentication (TFA) feature by enablingSmart Card Logon.The traditional authentication schemes use user name and password toauthenticate users. This provides minimal security.TFA, on the other hand, provides a higher-level of security by making theusers provide two factors of authentication - what you have and what youknow–what you have is the Smart Card, a physical device, and what youknow–a secret code like a password or PIN.The two-factor authentication requires users to verify their identities byproviding both factors.Configuring Smart Card Login in iDRAC6To enable iDRAC6 Smart Card logon feature from the Web interface:1 Open a supported Web browser window.2 Log in to iDRAC6 Web interface.3 In the system tree, select System→Remote Access→iDRAC6.The Remote Access Information screen appears.4 Click the Network/Security tab. Select Network and verify whether theDNS iDRAC6 Name is correct and matches with the name used foriDRAC6 fully qualified domain name.
