Connecting Other Sources Connecting Other Sources14Connecting a DVD recorderDVD recorderS VIDEOOUTS VIDEOINRLAUDIO INRLAUDIO OUTVIDEOOUTVIDEOINCOAXIALOUTOPTICALINOPTICALOUTRLRLFFGGARLRLACOMPONENT VIDEO OUTYPBPRHCDD• If you wish to perform analog dubbing from a digital source, such as a DVD recorder to an analogrecorder such as a cassette deck, you will need to connect the analog inputs and outputs asshown below, in addition to the digital audio connections.• The digital inputs and outputs connection is the same as that for a CD (MD) recorder.NOTE:• When recording to a DVD recorder, it is necessary that the type of cable used with theplayback source equipment be the same type that is connected to the AVR-2106 VCR-1 (to 2)OUTPUT terminal.Example: VCR-1 IN → S-Video cable : VCR-1 OUT → S-Video cableVCR-1 IN → Video cable : VCR-1 OUT → Video cableConnecting a VCRVideo deckS VIDEOINRLAUDIO INRLAUDIO OUTVIDEOINS VIDEOOUTVIDEOOUTRLRLFGFGARLRLA• For best picture quality choose the component video connection to your VCR. S-Video andcomposite video outputs are also provided. If you choose to use the component videoconnection, it needs to be assigned.
