41Advanced Setup – Part 2This Speaker Setup section describes the procedures to makespeaker settings manually (without using the Auto Setupfunction), as well as to make manual changes to settings thathave already been made by the Auto Setup function.CURSORENTERAdvanced Setup – Part 21 Press the CURSOR DD or HH button to select“Speaker Setup” at the “System Setup” menu,then press the ENTER button.• The “Speaker Setup” menu appears.Setting the Speaker Config.Speaker SetupThe composition of the signals output to each channel and thefrequency response are adjusted automatically according to thecombination of speakers actually being used.2 Press the CURSOR DD or HH button to select“Speaker Config.”, then press the ENTERbutton.• The “Speaker Config.” screen appears.3 Press the CURSOR DD or HH button to select aspeaker, then press the CURSOR FF or GG buttonto select a parameter.Center Sp.Front Sp.SubwooferSurround Sp.Surround back Sp.4 Press the ENTER button to enter the setting.• The “Speaker Setup” menu appears.• Select “Large” or “Small” not according to the actual size ofthe speaker but according to the speaker’s capacity for playinglow frequency (bass sound below the frequency set for theCrossover Frequency) signals. If you are unsure, try comparingthe sound at both settings (setting the volume to a level lowenough so as not to damage the speakers) to determine theproper setting.2 ParametersLarge:Select this when using speakers that have sufficient ability toreproduce bass sound below the frequency set for thecrossover frequency mode.Yes / No:Select “Yes” when a subwoofer is installed, “No” when asubwoofer is not installed.Small:Select this when using speakers that do not have sufficientability to reproduce bass sound below the frequency set for thecrossover frequency mode. When this is set, bass sound witha frequency below the frequency set for the crossoverfrequency mode is sent to the subwoofer.None:Select this when no speakers are installed.2sp / 1sp:Set the number of speakers to be used for the surround backchannel.If the subwoofer has sufficient low frequency playbackcapacity, good sound can be achieved even when “Small” isset for the front, center and surround speakers.Setting the Delay TimeInput the distance between the listening position and eachspeaker to set the delay time for the surround playback.Center FRFLSubwooferListening positionSL SRSBL SBRPreparations:Measure the distances between the listening position and thespeakers.
