Alternatively,you can download it from the Eaton web page.6.3 Signal input monitoringThis standard feature lets you connect smoke detectors or overtemperaturealarms to your signal inputs. The user interface terminals for externalconnections are located above or next to the power terminals of the UPS (seeFigures31 and32 ). Use twisted-pair wires for each alarm input and common.The signal inputs can be programmed to display the alarm's functional name.6.4 General purpose relay contactOne general purpose relay contact is provided as a standard feature on theUPS. An alarm contact is also provided.You can use a normally-closed or normally-open contact. If the state of thecontact changes from the state you specify as normal, a signal is issued. Youcan connect this contact to equipment at your facility (such as a light or an alarmbell) to let you know when an alarm is active on the UPS. This feature is useful ifthe UPS is located in a remote area where the UPS horn may not be heardimmediately.Note: Do not operate the contacts in excess of 30 VAC (RMS) and 30 VDC at5 A maximum.6.5 Configuring relays9PHD offers one native relay output. Additionally, each of the 4 MiniSlots can beequipped with a relay card, including 5 relays. The following instructions guideyou through the relay configuration. For additional information on alarms, seeAlarms Manual for Eaton 91PS/93PS/93PM (P-164000681).Currently the relay configuration can be done using the display. The maximumvoltage of the relay is 30 V. Examine the voltage and current specifications ofthe other cards from the previous sections.The process for relay configuration is as follows:1. In the home screen of the display, click the lock icon in the top right cornerto type in the service password.2.
