Refer toFigure 9 for grounding connections.otee:N Grounding of the mounting panel orstandard 19" rack does not eliminate the controlgrounding requirement. The grounding connection on the back of the control willaccommodate a spade connector or ring terminal that fitson a .25 inch diameter grounding terminal stud (Figure 10).otee:N Control grounding must comply with all locallyapproved procedures and safety practices that applyin a substation or other appropriate indoor facility. The recloser that the control will be connected to must alsobe properly grounded per the grounding requirements of theindividual recloser. Refer to the appropriate installation andoperation manual for grounding requirements.IMPORTANTAll external wiring inputs to the Form 6 recloser controlmust be routed within 8 inches of their correspondingground. During a surge, a potential of approximately 1.5kV per foot can develop in the conductors. Differencesbetween conductor and ground path lengths can addadditional stress to the control components in the event ofa power surge.
