Multi-phase voltage regulationThe CL-7 voltage regulator control is capable of controllingup to three (3) voltage regulators with the use of a singlecontrol. In order to function in a multi-phase configuration,the control must be equipped with a multi-phase moduleattached to the bottom of the base control. It must also beinstalled into a control box configured with a back panel andconnections for multiple voltage regulators.Figure 41 Multi-phase module with control switches,a neutral light, motor fuse and terminals for connectedsecond and third regulatorsMulti-phase parametersOnce the control and control box are configured, themulti-phase functionality is turned on using FC 200. Othermulti-phase settings are required to designate the mode ofoperation (FC201), the number connected regulators(FC 202) and designation of a lead regulator (FC 203).The Multi-phase Mode selection designates how the controlwill operate the regulators with respect to each other. Thesettings include:●● Independent – Connected units regulate voltageindependently of each other;●● Lead Phase Regulation – Similar to Leader/Follower, thelead regulator determines the tap position for all phasesbased on conditions on the lead phase;●● Voltage Averaging – All regulators are gang operatedand on the same tap position with the control regulatingbased upon the average load voltage of all connectedregulators;●● Max Deviation – All connected regulators regulateindependently, but within a sliding window of a maximumdeviation of tap positions.●● Advanced Independent - Connected units regulateindependent of each other and are also able to operateusing individual settings values for Set Voltage,Bandwidth, Time Delay and Line Drop Compensation.See document MZ225003EN, CL-7 Multi-phase ControlReference for detailed information on the multi-phasedefinitions and settings.
