Section 3: Initial control programmingThis section explains each step for properly completinginitial control programming settings on a CL-7 voltageregulator control and back panel. Check the System LineVoltage rating on the regulator nameplate. Refer to theregulator service manual as identified on the regulatornameplate for additional information on the regulator. This section covers standard set-up procedures for controls, including control replacement. Refer to Programmingand reconfiguring for different voltage systems wheninstalling/replacing the CL-7 control and reconfiguring theregulator for a different voltage system.1. Start with all switches on the control front panel turnedOFF.2. There are two options for powering the control: internalpower or external power. Select one method and followthe appropriate step.a. Internal PowerTurn POWER switch to Internal from the Off position.b. External PowerApply external source to the EXTERNAL SOURCEbinding posts: hot lead to black, top binding post;neutral lead to white, bottom binding post; groundto green ground binding post. Refer to Section 1:Control Front Panel: Connecting power to externalsource terminals for detailed instructions on applyingpower to the external source terminals.Turn POWER switch to External from the Offposition.Basic programmingSet the parameters in Table 3 to program the controlfor basic operation. Continue with the steps in Table 4to program the control for reverse power and additionalfeatures.ote:N After turning on the control and the LCD displays theresults of the Self-Test, press ESC for further keypaduse.Step-by-step programming instructions are included inTable 3 and Table 4. The Instructions column lists keys topress (i.e.; ENTER, Edit, 7, etc.). Also, italicized instructionsdenote a choice or an entry; Value denotes a desired valueentered via the numeric keypads; and following each“Scroll” is an italicized list of alternatives that appear in thedisplay, within that function code. Scroll through the list untilthe desired alternative is selected, and then press Enter.Perform a Demand Master Reset (FC 38) after completingthe initial control programming to reset to present demandvalues.ote:N Go to FC 941 to change the language setting.Table 3 Programming for basic operationsFunctioncode Description Instructions99 Security Function FUNC, 99, ENTER, Password Admin (default), ENTER1 Forward Set Voltage FUNC, 1, ENTER, EDIT, Value, ENTER2 Forward Bandwidth FUNC, 2, ENTER, EDIT, Value, ENTER3 Forward Time Delay FUNC, 3, ENTER, EDIT, Value, ENTER4 Forward Line Drop Comp.
