42 Amended: Jan 2014Zone Monitoring UnitsMIU 871This is a true Zone monitor with 2 inputs, one for a zone of conventional call points the second for azone of conventional detectors (max 20). End of line for the call point zone is 6K8, end of line for thedetection zone is the EOLM 1 (the JSB FXN 520 series can only be used on this zone).MIU 871/ISSimilar to the above but the detection zone has been programmed to accept a Zener barrier and zoneof intrinsically safe detectors. End of line for this zone now becomes 6K8 and the diode in the detectorbase must be removed.MIU 871CUKThis device has been programmed as a Technical input similar in effect to the Non fire input. Thisdevice can be used in conjunction with a Fan controller, and can be used to provide confirmation ofoperation (feedback) from an extract fan or smoke vent.MSU 840Another zone monitor similar to the MIU 871, this unit also has a fire relay rated at 30v 1A and 2conventional sounder circuits fully monitored. The power supply, which is also monitored, is the FX1Aand must be fitted even if the sounders are not used.MSU 840CThis device provides the output to control an extract fan or smoke vent in conjunction with a Fancontrol unit.Fan Controller FC6The FC6 Fan Controller is designed to satisfy the requirements of Australian standard AS1668 & canbe connected to a Cooper analogue addressable fire alarm control panel by means of the commsLoop utilizing only one address. There are 6 channels per Fan Controller capable of controlling & indicating 6 individual Fans. Each channel is programmed to an output device and feedback input device in the loop (for example,MSU 840-C, MIU871cUK modules) to control & monitor the status of the Fan.A new module has been created which provides 2 addresses the first to control the feedback thesecond to provide output and reset controls for the fanIn Automatic mode the Fan is controlled by the DF6000 in the normal way through the site installerprogram. Feedback must be detected from the Technical input within 25 secs or a fault will appear onthe FC6In manual mode the Fan can be started and stopped using the Start/Stop buttons on the FC6, againonce the start button has been operated then feedback must be received within 25 secs.
