Electrical connections and wiring6.1 CautionsInstallation, commissioning, maintenance or retrofitting of the EV charger must be performed by professionaland qualified personnel who are responsible for complying with existing standards and local installationregulations.For safety reasons, an appropriately rated input load disconnector must be provided for each individualproduct. No load should be connected directly to the product during wiring.Connect only one EV charger for each circuit breaker and residual current device (RCD). The circuitbreaker serves as a mains disconnector.Before starting connection operations, ensure that the external AC-line main switch is disconnected, andthat circuit breakers are open.Any operation that requires opening the EV charger can lead to electric shock hazards.6.2 Standard wiringTo connect the EV charger to the electrical panel, professional and qualified personnel should consider the followingguidelines and consult Table 6.Table 6. For this reason, the cable sections or line length must be reassessed byprofessional and qualified personnel in accordance with maximum power loss regulations. Also, whendimensioning the power supply line, observe the possible reduction factors and the increased environmentaltemperatures inside the connection area of the EV charger (see temperature rating of the supply terminals).Under certain circumstances, this can increase the cable cross-section and change the temperatureresistance of the power supply line.Professional and qualified personnel must define the types of RCD and circuit breaker in accordance withlocal standards.The protective earth conductor must have a cross-section at least equal to or greater than the cross-sectionof the cables for connection to the public grid (AC), and in accordance with the requirements of localregulations. |
