Instruction ManualPage 9Never protect the piston rod with plastic foil but use air breathingmaterial like Denso-tape instead.5.2.3 Storage checklistDuring storage verify the following items monthly, adjust immediately ifnecessary and document accordingly on the checklist:1. Verify if preservation oil, grease or wax (Rust-Ban 397 or equivalent,suitable for the environment) is still present on all blank surfaces.2. Check if connections are properly sealed and that there are no leakages(oil spill / nitrogen pressure drop below 3 bar).3. Check cylinder for paint-damages. Any damage to the paint should berepaired immediately. Make sure the same paint is used according to thespecifications of the cylinder.4. Check if piston rod protection is in place.Storage more than 6 months after FATNew pressure test required before installation.Storage more than 2 years after FATThe cylinders should be disassembled, cleaned, seal replacement and testingbefore installation / commissioning. Disassembly of cylinders MUST be doneby qualified Eaton personnel. Every single part should sealed, greased, oiledor waxed to prevent rust, damage or any other type of threat.
