CHAPTER 4: SETPOINTS CONTROL869 MOTOR PROTECTION SYSTEM – INSTRUCTION MANUAL 4–359Contactor ControlThe selection for the Breaker or Contactor is available under the Motor Setup menu. Thesettings and logic for the Contactor Control described below only apply when theContactor is selected, and the Control mode is set to Remote (Local Mode set to “Off”, or theselected LOCAL MODE operand de-asserted).The selection for the Switching Device for either the Breaker or Contactor is available in theMotor Setup menu.NOTENOTE:The breaker “Remote Block Open”, “Remote Block Close”, “Bypass Rem Blk Open” and“Bypass Rem Blk Close” flags are inhibited, when the setpoint Select Before Operateresiding under the Local Control Mode menu is set to Disabled. The breaker remote openand close commands are still operational.Figure 4-159: Switching Device Pushbuttons and Monitor LEDsPath: Setpoints > Control > Contactor Control > Cnct1 ControlREMOTE OPENRange: Off, On, Any FlexLogic operandDefault: OffThis setpoint is active, when the Local Mode is inactive. The setting specifies the inputthat when asserted, initiates a “STOP” command. When the selected input is asserted, the output relay #1 is energized and stays energized until the input drops off, thebreaker (or contactor) opens, and the selected Seal-in time expires. This setpointprovides flexibility to operate output relay #1 by selecting an operand from the list ofFlexLogic operands, contact inputs, virtual inputs, or remote inputs. For example, theoperand “Phase OV 1 OP” can be selected to activate output relay #1 according to theoperate conditions configured under the Phase OV 1 menu.REMOTE CLOSERange: Off, On, Any FlexLogic operandDefault: OffThis setpoint is active, when the Local Mode is inactive. This setting specifies the inputthat when asserted, initiates a START command. This setpoint provides flexibility tooperate the designated output relay by selecting an operand from the list of FlexLogicoperands, contact inputs, virtual inputs, or remote inputs.FASTPATH:The START command operates Output relay 2 if Setpoint > System > Contactor > Contactor1 > Close Relay Select is set to “Relay 2”.
