DISPLAY PROPERTIESSome relay messaging characteristics can be modified to suit different situations using the display properties settings.Flash messages are status, warning, error, or information messages displayed for several seconds in response to certainkey presses during setting programming. These messages override any normal messages. The time a flash messageremains on the display can be changed to accommodate different reading rates. If no keys are pressed for a period of time,the relay automatically displays a default message. This time can be modified to ensure messages remain on the screenlong enough during programming or reading of actual values.To extend the life of the phosphor in the vacuum fluorescent display, the brightness can be attenuated when displayingdefault messages. SERIAL PORTSThe C60 is equipped with up to 3 independent serial communication ports. The faceplate RS232 port is intended for localuse and has fixed parameters of 19200 baud and no parity. The rear COM1 port type will depend on the CPU ordered: itmay be either an Ethernet or an RS485 port. The rear COM2 port is RS485. The RS485 ports have settings for baud rateand parity. It is important that these parameters agree with the settings used on the computer or other equipment that isconnected to these ports. Any of these ports may be connected to a personal computer running URPC. This software isused for downloading or uploading setting files, viewing measured parameters, and upgrading the relay firmware to the lat-est version. A maximum of 32 relays can be daisy-chained and connected to a DCS, PLC or PC using the RS485 ports.For each RS485 port, the minimum time before the port will transmit after receiving data from a host can beset.
