20POWER OUTAGE MEMORYIf electrical power to the water softener islost, “memory’’ built into the timer circuitry willkeep all settings for up to 24 hours. While thepower is out, the display is blank and the watersoftener will not regenerate. When electricalpower is restored, the following will occur:Reset the present time only if the display isflashing. The HARDNESS and RECHARGETIME never require resetting unless a changeis desired. Even if the clock is incorrect aftera long power outage, the softener operatesas it should to keep your water soft. However,regenerations may occur at the wrong time ofday until you reset the clock to the correct timeof day.NOTE: If the water softener was regeneratingwhen power was lost, it will now finish thecycle.BLUE INDICATOR LIGHTSteady blue light indicates that the unit isworking correctly. The light flashes when theunit needs attention from the user.• Light will also flash when power to until hasbeen interrupted. Check the PRESENT TIMEsetting.• Light flashes and DAYS TO EMPTY flashes -check salt level and add salt as required.• Light flashes and Err is in the display -electrical problem with system (see page 25).LOW SALT SIGNALWhen the DAYS TO EMPTY drops to 15, theblue indicator light and DAYS TO EMPTY inthe display will flash every second and thealarm will beep every 30 seconds (from 8:00AM to 8:00 PM), to notify the user that the unitis running low on salt. As soon as any buttonis pressed, the alarm will stop beeping. Theblue indicator light and DAYS TO EMPTY willcontinue to flash. Once salt is added to thebrine tank and the SALT LEVEL is reset, theDAYS TO EMPTY will be reset.ERROR SIGNALSIf there is an errorcode detected, theblue indicator lightwill flash 4 timesevery second, thedisplay will flash Errand the alarm will beep every 30 seconds (from8:00 AM to 8:00 PM) to signal that the softenerrequires service. The alarm can be turned offby pressing any button, but the blue indicatorlight and display will continue to flash.Disconnect the transformer from the walloutlet momentarily, and plug it back in. Thenormal display will appear. The motor may runfor several minutes, as the unit resets. If theproblem is not corrected, the error code willreappear in 8 minutes.
