24Using the Convection OvenWall OvenHow to setthe oven forconvectionroastingwhen usingthe probeCAUTION: To prevent possible burns, donot unplug the probe from the oven outletuntil the oven has cooled. Do not store theprobe in the oven.For best results when roasting large turkeys and roasts,we recommend using the probe included in theconvection oven.1 Place the shelf (on 27≤ models use the offsetshelf) in the lowest position (A). Insert theprobe into the meat.2 Plug the probe into the outlet in the oven.Make sure it is pushed all the way in. Closethe oven door.3 Press the CONVECTION ROAST pad.4 Press the number pads to set the desired oventemperature.To change the oven temperature during theConvection Roast cycle, press the CONVECTIONROAST pad and then press the number pads toset the new desired temperature.5 Press the PROBE pad.6 Press the number pads to set the desiredinternal meat temperature.7 Press the START pad.The display will flash PROBE and the oven controlwill signal if the probe is inserted into the outlet, andyou have not set a probe temperature and pressed theSTART pad.When the oven starts to heat, the word LO willbe in the display.After the internal temperature of the meatreaches 100°F., the changing internaltemperature will be shown in the display.8 When the internal temperature of the meatreaches the number you have set, the probeand the oven turn off and the oven controlsignals. To stop the signal, press theCLEAR/OFF pad. Use hot pads to removethe probe from the food. Do not use tongs topull on it—they might damage it.If the probe is removed from the food before the finaltemperature is reached, a tone will sound and thedisplay will flash until the probe is removed fromthe oven.NOTE:• You will hear a fan while cooking with this feature.The fan will stop when the door is opened but the heatwill not turn off.• You can use the timer even though you cannot usetimed oven operations.• On double oven models, you will not be able to usethe probe in the upper oven during timed ovenoperations. This is because with the probe you arecooking by temperature rather than time.
