18Operating the applianceOven interiorThe cooking compartment has four shelf positions. Theshelf positions are counted from the bottom up.Note: When steaming, defrosting, dough proofing andrefreshing, you can use up to three insertion levels atthe same time (levels 2, 3 and 4). You can only bake onone level, use level 2 when baking (or level 1 for highercake tins).9 CAUTIONDo not place anything on the cookingcompartment floor. Do not cover it with aluminiumfoil. A build-up of heat could damage theappliance or cause injury.9 CAUTIONThe cooking compartment floor must always bekept clear. Always place ovenware in a perforatedcooking container or on a wire rack.9 CAUTIONDo not slide any accessories between the shelfpositions, or they may tip.Inserting accessoriesThe rack and the perforated cooking receptacle featurea latching function. The latching function prevents tiltingof accessories when pulling them out. You must insertaccessories in the cooking interior correctly so that tiltprotection will work. When removing accessories, youmust raise them slightly.When inserting the rack, make sure▯ that the engaging lug (a) points upward▯ that the rack's safety clip is at the rear and top.When pushing in the perforated cooking receptacle,make sure that the recess (a) points to the side.Turning on1 Use the function selector to set the type of heating.The selected heating type and suggestedtemperature appear on the display.2 If you would like to change the temperature:Turn the rotary selector to set the desiredtemperature.The pre-heat symbol “ appears on the display. Thebars continuously display the heating status. When theset temperature has been reached, a signal sounds andthe “ preheat symbol goes out. DDDD
