Warnings and CautionsThe GPS system is operated by the United States governmentwhich is solely responsible for its accuracy and maintenance. Thesystem is subject to changes which could affect the accuracy andperformance of all GPS equipment. Although the Garmin Rino520/530 is a precision electronic NAVigation AID (NAVAID), anyNAVAID can be misused or misinterpreted and, therefore, becomeunsafe.The electronic chart is an aid to navigation and is designed tofacilitate the use of authorized government charts, not replacethem. Only official government charts and notices to marinerscontain all information needed for safe navigation—and, asalways, the user is responsible for their prudent use.Use the Rino 520/530 at your own risk. To reduce the risk ofunsafe operation, carefully review and understand all aspectsof this Owner’s Manual. When in actual use, carefully compareindications from the Rino 520/530 to all available navigationsources, including the information from other NAVAIDs, visualsightings, charts, etc. For safety, always resolve any discrepanciesbefore continuing navigation.WARNING: The Rino 520/530 contains a lithium-ionrechargeable battery pack. The battery used in this device maypresent a risk of fire or chemical burn if mistreated. Do notdisassemble, heat above 140°F (60°C), or incinerate.WARNING: If the original battery pack must be replaced, disposeof the used battery properly. Contact your local waste disposaldepartment for information on proper disposal of lithium-ionbatteries. Keep used batteries away from children. Do notdisassemble or dispose of batteries in fire.MAP DATA INFORMATION: One of the goals of Garminis to provide customers with the most complete and accuratecartography that is available to us at a reasonable cost. We use acombination of governmental and private data sources, which weidentify (as required) in product literature and copyright messagesdisplayed to the consumer. Virtually all data sources containinaccurate or incomplete data to some degree.
