Service and Repair Manual November 2016Outrigger Components84 GS-2669 DC • GS-3369 DC • GS-4069 DC Part No. 1272220GTOutrigg er Co mpon ents10- 1 Outri gger Cyli nder10-1Outrigger CylinderHow to Remove an OutriggerCylinder (if equipped)Note: When removing a hose assembly or fitting, the O-ring (if equipped) on the fitting and/or hoseend must be replaced. All connections must betorqued to specification during installation. Refer toSpecifications,Hydraulic Hose and Fitting TorqueSpecifications.1 Remove the mounting fasteners from theinside outrigger cylinder cover. Remove thecover.2 Remove the outrigger hose cover.3 Disconnect the outrigger limit switch andcylinder valve connectors.4 Remove the mounting fasteners from theoutside outrigger cover. Remove the cover.5 Tag, disconnect and plug the hydraulic hosesfrom the outrigger cylinder. Cap the fittings onthe cylinder.Bodily injury hazard. Sprayinghydraulic oil can penetrate andburn skin. Loosen hydraulicconnections very slowly to allowthe oil pressure to dissipategradually. Do not allow oil tosquirt or spray.6 Attach a lifting strap from an overhead craneto the barrel end of the outrigger cylinder forsupport. Do not apply any lifting pressure.7 Remove the outrigger mounting fasteners.Slide the outrigger cylinder down and awayfrom the machine.Crushing hazard. The outriggercylinder may becomeunbalanced and fall if notproperly supported whenremoved from the machine.Note: If the outrigger cylinder is being replaced, remove the foot pad assembly and install it on thereplacement cylinder.Note: After an outrigger cylinder has been installed, the machine must be re-calibrated. Refer to RepairProcedure,Outrigger Calibration.
