Danger of electric shock exists when the housing is opened or the deviceis handled improperly.11.1 Start-Up ProceduresAfter you turn on your Actilino, the device executes tests of several of its components. Thissection contains a description of each of these tests. If you receive any error messages uponturning on the unit, you will find help in understanding these messages in this section.If you encounter problems, please make sure you review chapter 11.1.2.11.1.1 Self-check of the File SystemThe self-check of the file system searches the entire serial flash memory. During this test,every file is tested for completeness, whether the data are stored correctly and whether anytwo files point to the same sector (concatenation). Also, the two system sectors are checkedfor their contents.This test can conclude with three different results which have varying consequences, asfollows:1. No error was found during the test: No measures need be taken.2. An error not affecting the entire file system was detected: The system issues a warningmessage.3. A fatal error was detected: It is necessary to reformat the entire flash disk.In the case of a warning, the Actilino will output the following message on the display: 'WRNwhen initializing file system, Backup recommended!'.As soon as this message has been confirmed by pressing [TLC], a message appearsshowing the version number of the file system, the identification number of the error thatwas detected and a description of the error. The display will read as follows: 'FsVersion x.y,ERR: n: t' where x.y is the version of the file system, n the number of the detected error andthe description of the error.If a fatal error has occurred, your Actilino will display the following: 'FER in file system:Flash disk must be formatted.' Again, this message is followed by the display of theversion number of the file system, the identification number of the error and the errordescription.Once this information has been confirmed, the Actilino will begin reformatting the flash disk.After reformatting, the unit will restart automatically and you must reload the contents of thefolder “HTSYS”.
