These iSeries servers support integratedremote console and control panel capabilities to simplify remote systemsmanagement tasks. iSeries Operations Console support allows a personalcomputer (PC) to be a local or remote console of iSeries servers. This allows asystem administrator to monitor the system from another location. A twinaxialconnection for console functions is not required. The remote console application is a full-function 5250 PC console session. Theremote control panel application complements the remote console function andprovides a graphical user interface (GUI) that resembles its hardwarecounterpart. Both applications, in general, make it possible to perform themajority of system operations tasks, for example backup and recovery, when theiSeries server and the operations staff are in physically separate locations.IBM Advanced Job Scheduler for iSeries 5722-JS1 752IBM Managed System Services for iSeries 5722-MG1 752IBM Performance Tools for iSeries 5722-PT1 758IBM System Manager for iSeries 5722-SM1 754Product or service name Product number Refer topageImportant: All existing console types are supported in IBM i5/OS V5R3partitions and on IBM Eserver i5 Models 520, 550, 570, and 595.Hardware Management Console (HMC) is required for managing partitionsand Capacity on Demand.
