BASIC OPERATIONDial select functione the dial select function to adjust the tuning behaviour or[Y]/[Z] keys—use 1 MHz tuning when you want toange the frequency in large increments; use the selecteding step when you want to change the frequency in smallerrements.Push [t] one or more times toselect the desired [Y]/[Z] keytuning increment.• 1 MHz tuning, 100 kHz tuning orregular tuning steps can be selected(see diagram at right).Release [t] to return to normal operation. Receive and transmit➀ Rotate [PWR/VOL] clockwise to turn power ON.➁ Adjust volume to the desired level.• While pushing [ ], rotate [VOL].➂ Set a frequency.When a signal is received:➥ Squelch opens and audio is emitted from the speaker.➥ “BUSY” appears and the S/RF indicator shows the relative sig-nal strength.➃ Push [H/L] to toggle output power between high and low.• “LOW” appears when low output power is selected.➄ Push and hold [PTT] to transmit; then speak into the mi-crophone.• Do not hold the microphone too close to your mouth or speaktoo loudly.
