Always wear gloves to prevent cutting yourself on the glass. Afterhandling ember glass, carefully wash your hands with soap and water to remove all traces of glass.• Remove the frame of the window. Refer to section 8.3.1 REMOVING THE DOOR• Carefully open the bag containing the ember glass.• Spread ember glass carefully on top of the burner. Use the entire bag and distribute it evenly over the entiresurface of the burner so as to cover the entire plate and grooves.9. MAINTENANCE9.1 PRECAUTIONA certified technician should perform the annual inspection and maintenance of your fireplace in addition to thegeneral installation of the fireplace and vent system to keep everything up and running safely. The gas intakeshould be cut and the fireplace should be completely cool during any maintenance. All parts of equipment thatare set aside for maintenance must be secured before the next use.WARNING:The proper positioning of ember glass is essential to good and safe operation of the appliance. Ember glassmust be distributed evenly over the burner. Do not add additional ember glass, ornaments or vermiculite.
