12CARE AND CLEANINGC ONTROL K NOBS• Remove knobs in the OFF position bypulling forward. (Never force theknobs off.)• Wash in dishwasher or soap andwater. Do not use abrasivecleaners.• Replace to OFF position. (Never hitor use force to replace the knob.)NOTE: The oven and griddle knobsare similar. However, the oven knobhas the word "Broil" on it. Thesmall oven knob (select models) isinterchangeable with the griddleknob.C ONTROL P ANEL• Wipe with a damp cloth. Drythoroughly.• Glass cleaners may be used if sprayedon a cloth first. Do not spraydirectly on the panel.• Do not use other cleaning sprays,abrasive cleaners or large amounts ofwater on the panel.S TAINLESS STEEL• DO NOT USE ANY CLEANINGPRODUCT CONTAINING CHLO-RINE BLEACH.• DO NOT USE ORANGE OR ABRA-SIVE CLEANERS.• ALWAYS WIPE WITH THE GRAINWHEN CLEANING.C LEANING P ROCEDURES • Daily Cleaning/Light Soil – Wipewith one of the following - soapywater, white vinegar/water solution,Formula 409 Glass and SurfaceCleaner* or a similar glass cleaner -using a sponge or soft cloth. Rinseand dry. To polish and help preventfingerprints, follow with Stainless SteelMagic Spray (Jenn-Air Model A912,Part No. 20000008)**.• Moderate/Heavy Soil – Wipe withone of the following - Bon Ami, SmartCleanser, or Soft Scrub* - using adamp sponge or soft cloth. Rinse anddry. Stubborn soils may be removedwith a damp Scotch-Brite* pad; rubevenly with the grain. Rinse and dry.To restore luster and remove streaks,follow with Stainless Steel Magic Spray.• Discoloration – Using a dampsponge or soft cloth, wipe with CameoStainless Steel Cleaner*. Rinse imme-diately and dry. To remove streaksand restore luster, follow with Stain-less Steel Magic Spray.OVEN INTERIOR ( MANUALCLEAN – PORCELAIN ENAMELFINISH )• All spillovers, especially acidicspillovers, should be wiped upimmediately with a dry cloth. Toprevent possible cracking or chippingof porcelain, never wipe off a warmor hot surface with a damp cloth.• Clean with soap and water. Do notallow food to bake on a second time.• Heavy spillovers will require cleaningwith mild abrasive cleansers such asS.O.S. or Bon Ami*. Household am-monia may be used to loosen soil.Place 1 / 2 cup of household ammoniain a glass dish on oven rack in aclosed, cold oven overnight.• To remove difficult stains, use anoven cleaner such as Easy-Off*. Fol-low oven cleaner directions. Do notspray gas burner, light bulb, tempera-ture sensing bulb, door gasket orexterior of oven. Remove oven racksbefore spraying with oven cleaner.When a commercial cleaner is used,rinse oven with a solution of 1 table-spoon vinegar to 1 cup water.OVEN RACKS• Rub with a sponge or cloth using oneof the following cleaners: Bon-Ami,Soft Scrub or Comet*. Rinse and dry.• For hard to remove soils, use adampened soap-filled scouring pad.Rinse and dry.OVEN WINDOW(SELECT MODELS )• Wash with soap and water or glass cleaner.Avoid using excessive amounts of water.Do not use abrasive cleaners.S URFACE BURNERS – BURNERCAP & PORTED BURNER RING -MAY BE REMOVED FORCLEANING.• Wipe acidic foods and sugary spills imme-diately with a dry cloth to prevent discol-oration.• Light soil – clean with hot soapy waterand a plastic scrubber.• Moderate soil – remove parts to acountertop. Then clean:1) spray with a household cleaner,2) cover with plastic wrap for 15minutes3) wipe with a plastic scrubber.• Be sure appliance is off and all partsare cool before handling or clean-ing.
