59 | KDC-BT92SD English | 60SMS (Short Message Service)Downloading the SMSDownload the short message (SMS) arrived at thecell-phone so that it can be read on this unit.1 Enter Bluetooth modePress the [ ] button.✍ You can also select from “Settings” in Menu Listmode.2 Enter SMS download modeTurn the [VOL] knob and press it when thedesired item is displayed.Select “BT Settings” > “SMS” > “SMSDownload”.3 Start downloadingPress the [VOL] knob.“Downloading” is displayed.When the downloading finishes, “Completed” isdisplayed.4 Exit BT Settings modePress the [ ] button.⁄• The cell-phone must be able to transmit the SMS usingBluetooth. Setting on the cell-phone may be required.If the cell-phone does not support SMS function, theSMS download item in Function Control mode is notdisplayed.• When the SMS is downloaded from the cell-phone, theunopened messages in the cell-phone are opened.• The already-read and unread short messages can berespectively downloaded up to 149.SMS (Short Message Service)The SMS arrived at the cell-phone is displayed onthe receiver.A newly arrived message is displayed.¤• To prevent car accidents, the driver should not read theSMS while driving.When a new message arrives“SMS Received” is displayed.The display disappears with any operations.Displaying the SMS1 Enter Bluetooth modePress the [ ] button.2 Enter SMS Inbox modeTurn the [VOL] knob and press it when thedesired item is displayed.Select “SMS Inbox”.A message list appears.3 Select a messageTurn the [VOL] knob.Each pressing of the [DISP] button switchesbetween telephone number or name and messagereception date.4 Display the textPress the [VOL] knob.Turning the [VOL] knob scrolls the message.Pressing the [VOL] knob again returns to themessage list screen.5 Exit SMS Inbox modePress the [MENU] button.6 Exit BT Settings modePress the [ ] button.⁄• The unopened message is displayed at the beginningof the list. Other messages are displayed in the order ofreception.• The SMS that has arrived when the cell-phone is notlinked with Bluetooth cannot be displayed. Downloadthe SMS.• The short message cannot be displayed duringdownloading the SMS.SMS reply settingYou can select a method to reply to the receivedSMS.1 Enter Bluetooth modePress the [ ] button.2 Enter SMS Reply modeTurn the [VOL] knob and press it when thedesired item is displayed.Select “BT Settings” > “SMS” > “SMS Reply”.3 Set to the desired Reply settingReply setting Display OperationAuto “AUTO” Replies to the received SMSautomatically.Manual “MANUAL” Sets whether to reply to thereceived SMS.OFF “OFF” Does not reply to the received SMS.Turn the [VOL] knob to select Reply setting,and then press the [VOL] knob.4 Exit SMS Reply modePress the [MENU] button.5 Exit BT Settings modePress the [ ] button.⁄• Set the reply message according to setting> (page 60).• When “Auto” is selected, a reply is made only to theSMS from the phone whose phone number has beenregistered in the phone book. If an SMS is receivedfrom the phone whose phone number has not beenregistered in the phone book, you can reply to it in thesame manner as you selected “Manual”.• “Send Error” is displayed in case of failure in transmissionof the message which is automatically returned when“Auto” is selected for Reply setting. While “SMS Resend” isstill displayed on the display, selecting “YES” resends thereply. Selecting “NO” cancels the reply.MENU VOL DISP PRESET Return message settingYou can select a return message (language).1 Enter Bluetooth modePress the [ ] button.2 Enter SMS Message modeTurn the [VOL] knob and press it when thedesired item is displayed.Select “BT Settings” > “SMS” > “SMS Message”.3 Set to the desired message (language)Turn the [VOL] knob to select message(language), and then press the [VOL] knob.4 Exit SMS Message modePress the [MENU] button.5 Exit BT Settings modePress the [ ] button.⁄• If you select “User” from the message, the previouslycreated original message will be sent.
